Netflix Casts Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a adored, popular member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. The role has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside several other fresh additions tasked with bringing the organization to reality, including leader Sir Crocodile, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Although this character is a major member of the group, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
