Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
